Wenta donate to local charities over Christmas
Wenta have continued their tradition of contributing to local charities over the festive season by donating over £1000 during the Christmas period.
Each year, Wenta distribute the ‘Wenta Donation Fund’, dedicated to supporting charitable actions and organisations across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Enfield.
Last year, Wenta sponsored 6 members of staff who took part in ‘Walk The Walk’, a night time fundraising walk through London to raise money to combat breast cancer.
This year, Wenta opened the Donation Fund up to members of staff who could nominate charities that are close to their heart.
Over the Christmas period, 7 charities were chosen to share a pot of money of over £1000.
Chris Pichon, acting CEO at Wenta, stated:
“Rather than incurring the cost of sending Christmas cards and gifts to our partners and supporters, we have continued our tradition of donating to local charities close to the hearts of Wenta staff by donating the money to brilliant local causes.
“As a social enterprise, we understand the importance of securing funding from any possible source. It is for this reason we set aside a portion of our profits every year to help local charities and social enterprises.
“As Christmas is the season of giving, we were delighted to invest ‘The Wenta Donation Fund’ to local charities working hard over the festive break. It is a pleasure to contribute to the immensely valuable work that these charities perform.”
Charities chosen by Wenta staff to receive a share of over £1000 include: Great Ormond Street Hospital, Stevenage Community Trust, Chums, The Peace Hospice, The North London Peace Hospice, Multiple Sclerosis Society and Lupus UK.
From all the team at Wenta, we wish everyone good health and happiness throughout 2017 and look forward to donating to many more worthwhile causes in the future.
