Wenta Celebrates another successful Partnership with North Herts College

Over the past twelve months, Wenta has had the pleasure of hosting a group of students who joined us through our placement programme with North Hertfordshire College. They arrived curious, keen to learn, and ready to see what working life in a business-support organisation really looks like. Now, as their time with us comes to an end, we want to take a moment to recognise what they have achieved and the contribution they have made.

Each student worked in a different part of the organisation, from reception and facilities management to sustainability projects and business support. Along the way, they helped real clients, supported busy teams, and picked up practical skills that cannot be learned in a classroom alone. Watching their confidence grow and seeing them settle into professional roles has shown just how valuable these opportunities can be for young people across Hertfordshire.

Michael Martin, Head of Net Zero and Advisor Team Manager at Wenta, has seen that progress first-hand.

“A credit to themselves and to North Herts College, it was a pleasure to note the students' work ethic and positive approach throughout their placements, increasing confidence and improving self-awareness,” he said.

“Beyond developing a range of skills, the students gained valuable insights into Wenta’s mission to make it easier and greener to start and run successful businesses and social enterprises, aiding their studies. With our thanks to Blake, Jake, Noah and Tom, they can be proud of themselves, more confident now in realising their future aspirations."

We are proud to have played a part in their journeys and grateful to colleagues across Wenta who made time to support, mentor and guide them day to day.

And the programme is not slowing down. Later this month, we will be welcoming four new students who will be joining teams across Facilities Management, btc Stevenage Reception, the Business Advice and Support Triage team, and the Action Zero project. We are looking forward to having them on board and seeing what they bring over the coming months.

To the students who are finishing their placements, thank you for your hard work and energy. We wish you every success in whatever comes next and hope the experience you gained here stays with you for a long time.
