Say Hello to a COP26 Net Zero Hero!

Hertfordshire-based business, Design Abled, were presented with the Net Zero Hero award by Andrew Griffiths MP, at the COP26 International Climate Change Summit, November 2021.

The company has been recognised for it’s consistent efforts to reduce carbon emissions, while trying to protect people from the pandemic, having produced one of the UK’s first CE/UKCA marked, transparent medical face masks, to help break down communication barriers and aid interaction while wearing facemasks. You can see them at www.thehelloface.com.

Design Abled first connected with Wenta in 2020 for support with a different venture, continuing the relationship into 2021, working with a Wenta Business Advisor on distributor agreements and negotiations, Licensing, intellectual property and trademarking for the Helloface product. Previous advice and support included assistance with grant applications, website development, taxation on exports and the Kickstart Scheme.

Dean Ezekiel, director of Design Abled, said: “We are very proud of the business decisions we have taken on our way to becoming a Hero of Net Zero. We hope to inspire other businesses to make the same commitment and to make eco-friendly decisions. We believe in our chance to make a positive impact.

“Our aim is to solve communication problems of respiratory protection, as a sustainable, net zero business. As a manufacturer, we have a choice to reduce our impact on climate change, while still meeting the needs of customers and growing our business.”

Offering eco-friendly, branded solutions to help people to function better, physically, mentally and socially, including 12 million deaf or hard of hearing people in the UK – particularly in health care settings, Design Abled have launched a crowdfunding campaign to support the increasing demand for clear face masks.
