MP For Enfield North, Joan Ryan, Visits Local Businesses at the Wenta Business Centre
MP for Enfield North, Joan Ryan, visited us at The Wenta Business Centre on Innova Park, Electric Avenue this week on Monday 26th October. Meeting with a number of small businesses as well as the Wenta team running the centre, Joan took the time to find out more about the support on offer to local companies.
Learning of the various services that we provide to the local business community, such as office and workshop rental, meeting room hire, training courses, online business advice and virtual office services, Joan was impressed at the level of support given. She said:
"I’m very impressed with the offer that Wenta have here at The Wenta Business Centre and what they are doing to provide a home and nest of support for local businesses. This is hugely important for Enfield, helping businesses to grow and be successful.”.
During her visit, Joan was taken on a tour around the centre to take a look at the recent investment of refurbishment works that we have carried out since acquiring the building in Spring 2013 from Enfield Council. Joan also met with a number of businesses based at the centre including Graham Wilson from BT Local Business, represented by Switched On Communications Ltd, and Mario from device and phone repair company, Fonetec.
Speaking to Sayal Bertug, owner of Guardian Shipping Limited based at the centre, Joan asked how his experience has been to date. Sayal said:
“We get a lot of support from Cathy and the team here at The Wenta Business Centre – it’s great! We’re growing very fast and a lot of people based here use us for shipping as well. We’re hoping to take on some apprentices in the near future too.”
Since taking over the building we have seen the number of businesses based at the centre rise dramatically from 34 to 46, with occupancy levels increasing from 49% to 95%. Investment has been made in a variety of areas including the renovation of empty offices, meeting rooms, a new Reception area and the installation of new security facilities.
The centre has now also started to deliver a number of other complementing services too such as training courses, networking events and also an online business advice service so that centre-based clients can receive instant business advice at the click of a button as and when they need it.
