Get Enterprising Client Story:
Infinite Mas

Wenta spoke with Louise, who designs costumes for Notting Hill Carnival, and whose parents are Caribbean so has been attending carnivals since childhood.

She commented about the free support she's received on the Get Enterprising Programme:

"Free help and support is so valuable. I have so many creative ideas, but the practical aspects can be really challenging, so to be able to talk through these challenges with an advisor and to have access to free downloads and training videos to watch has been incredibly useful!

"I've accessed 121 business advice, live and recorded training webinars (recorded is useful because I have a 1-year old daughter, so to watch things in my own time has been amazing).

"It’s shown me that I am an entrepreneur. I can be a Mum and run my own successful business. I have the confidence to market my costumes, set-up photoshoots and arrange everything in support of my business.

"The support has meant I’ve been able to think beyond Notting Hill carnival. My dreams are to design costumes for Barbados, Trinidad and Miami carnivals – this would be the ultimate goal! For now, my focus is on the production of these costumes and thinking about how I share my talents with Hertfordshire – I’m looking to hold music and costume workshops for between 10-15 people to teach how to make costumes, and get people involved in this rich culture. I’d be interested in speaking with Arts Councils in getting these workshops set up, and promoting Soca music, dancing and costume styling.

"Keep doing what you're doing, Wenta this support has been amazing, thank you!
