Wenta has been providing support to the business community in Luton for over 20 years, helping residents to start up and grow their own business. 
Luton residents can currently apply for a business start-up grant of up to £500 which is available to help anyone starting their own business. The grant can be used for any capital expenditure, from advertising to office equipment.

Funded by LLAL and administered by Wenta, the Luton Start-up Grant is designed to encourage business start-ups and self-employment, in Luton and its surrounding areas.

Who can apply?
The Luton start-up grant is available to Luton residents only who have a new business and have not started to trade, although in exceptional cases, consideration will be given to businesses demonstrating growth and trading for less than 12 months.

There is no specific criteria for business industry as the grant is applicable to all types of businesses.

What can you use the grant for?
Grants are available for capital expenditure, or some items requiring working capital, for example:

• Tools
• Machinery
• Office equipment
• Stock
• Insurance
• Advertising

In all cases, a solid Business Plan will be required as part of the application and, as always, Wenta will be pleased to provide free support and guidance on this. The business plan is a crucial document that needs to show that the business can generate sufficient return.  For existing businesses, with less than 12 months trading, additional financial information will be requested.
