Barnet Client Story: Smart Move Ventures (SMV)

“We reached out to Wenta to better understand the local business support available to small and early-stage organisations… Wenta’s reputation for supporting local entrepreneurs and small businesses made them a natural first point of contact.” Aakanksha Haran, Smart Move Ventures (SMV)

For Aakanksha Haran, founder of Ganak Times Ltd., operating as Smart Move Ventures (SMV), research has always been about helping organisations make better decisions, grounded in real-world insight, human experience and reliable data.

Founded in 2006, SMV is a market-intelligence and research-analysis consultancy delivering end-to-end research across markets, competitors, brands, products, communications and digital platforms. Its multidisciplinary team brings together experience in consultancy, market research, marketing and web development, united by a shared commitment to producing insight clients can trust.

What first inspired the business was a desire to close the gap between theory and practice.

“Smart Move Ventures was inspired by a desire to create meaningful, people-centred solutions through research-driven work… recognising a gap between how research is designed on paper and how it actually unfolds on the ground.”

Having worked closely with communities and operational environments, Aakanksha saw how essential on-field engagement and first-hand data collection were to shaping meaningful, actionable findings.

“Smart Move Ventures offers end-to-end research support, from planning and fieldwork to analysis and reporting… enabling organisations to focus on decision-making, confident that the research behind it is reliable, ethical, and grounded in real experiences.”

At the heart of the consultancy is a long-term mindset.

“At its core, Smart Move Ventures was built on trust, becoming a long-term research partner rather than a one-off service provider… to help organisations move forward with clarity, confidence, and research they can genuinely rely on.”

Turning to Wenta for Guidance and Connection

As a small business focused on sustainable growth, SMV wanted to better understand the support available to SMEs and connect with organisations that champion local enterprise.

That search led the team to Wenta through its events programme.

Aakanksha explains:

“We reached out to Wenta to better understand the local business support available to small and early-stage organisations… Wenta’s reputation for supporting local entrepreneurs and small businesses made them a natural first point of contact.”

Through attending one of Wenta’s business-support events, SMV gained insight into the services, resources and networks available to growing firms.

“Our engagement with Wenta has included attending one of their business support events, which provided an overview of the services, resources, and networks available to small businesses.”

Although the engagement was at an early stage, the experience helped reinforce the importance of community-led business ecosystems and proactive networking.

Aakanksha says:

“The support from Wenta helped us gain a clearer understanding of the types of assistance available to small businesses and reinforced the importance of community-led business support.”

She adds:

“Attending the event increased our awareness of networking opportunities and encouraged us to explore further guidance as our business grows… It also helped us feel more connected to the local business community and confident about seeking support when needed in the future.”

By connecting with Wenta and other organisations through its events, SMV strengthened its awareness of the wider support landscape and positioned itself to draw on that expertise as new opportunities emerge.

Looking to the Future

Smart Move Ventures continues to evolve how it delivers insight, with plans focused on designing research for uncertainty and stability, experimenting with lighter research sprints, scaling automation and deploying human-supervised AI systems. The business is also building decision-ready insight tools and strengthening quality-control processes across the research lifecycle.

For Aakanksha and her team, the goal remains unchanged: to provide research that helps organisations move forward with clarity and confidence.

Engaging with Wenta has helped reinforce that journey, offering perspective, connection and visibility of the support available to SMEs as they plan their next stage of growth.
