Are you just starting out in business; are at the stage that the ambition of your company now requires staff or you have a small number of staff – then this workshop is for you. Allow Serena Bower from Bower HR Consultancy to walk you through some basics of employment law of the employee lifecycle which you need to be aware of. Areas which will be touched on during the session are Recruitment and Selection, Contracting, Onboarding, Restrictive Covenants, Grievance and Disciplinary. Serena will reference the latest employment tribunal cases in her workshop to embed learning.

Employment Law is a complex area, get it wrong and it can be an expensive mistake.

About Serena Bower (MCIPD)

Serena Bower (MCIPD) is a qualified (since 2002) HR professional and consultant who owns Bower HR Consultancy, an outsourced HR services company for start-up and small ambitious businesses.

Her passion is unlocking the barriers to a successful growth for SMEs.

Serena's background is in HR and Learning Development environments within IT, Banking and Transport sectors in London which spans 23 years, and of more recent years with a host of small businesses across a number of different industries. She has implemented successful learning development programmes; guided business owners through complex HR situations; implemented people change programmes and contributed to the improved processes and shaping of the business strategy of many new start-ups.

She is fuelled by her passion and enthusiasm for understanding the needs of people and ensuring this contributes to the success of business.

Serena firmly believes that people are a business's greatest asset - a tenet she lives out through her advice, guidance and practical support to business.
