What is The Central Bedfordshire Start-Up Grant?
For a limited time only, the Central Bedfordshire Grant Fund is offering a business start-up grant between £300 and £3,000 to start-up businesses based within Central Bedfordshire, which is funded by the UKSPF (UK Shared Prosperity Fund) and REPF (Rural England Prosperity Fund).
This grant aims to help new businesses grow by assisting with start-up costs.

What Can The Grant Be Used For?
These grants can be used for a wide range of support, including:
- Creating your business' website - help with design, creating and optimising your website
- Getting your brand set up - choose your own suppliers or we can put you in touch with our range of brand partners
- Intellectual property services such as registering your trademark or patent
- Purchasing your website domain(s) and hosting (lasting for more than one year)
- Sales and Advertising Collateral - from banner stands and business cards to leaflets and branded merchandise
- Software licenses for continuous use (more than one year)
- Office equipment for your business (excluding IT)
- Software developed internally
- Commercial vehicles for your business
- Machinery
- Development expenditure

These are 20% match-funded which means you just have to contribute 20% of the purchase and the grant will cover the rest e.g. for a £500 grant, you just pay £100, and the grant will be provided for the remaining £400.
Who is this grant for?
Grants available for businesses less than 3 years old in Central Bedfordshire
- All clients need to be signed up to be part of the Central Bedfordshire funded Start-Up Programme
- The applicant has to provide evidence that the business has been registered:
- if you are a limited company, you should be registered with Companies House
- if your business is a partnership, you should have a copy of your Partnership Agreement
- if you are a sole trader, you should be registered as self-employed with HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC)
- Applicants should be aged 18 years and over
- Clients should submit a basic outline business plan including financial projections
- Any business activity that is illegal or deemed unsuitable for public support by Central Bedfordshire Council will not be eligible for consideration
