Support for UK Industries in response to COVID-19

Update for small businesses:

On Saturday 20th June we received a further response and update on our Wenta .Gov petition to Extend grants immediately to small businesses outside of Small Business Rates Relief (SBRR) which has now received over 25,700 signatures across the UK.

The Petitions Committee, which is the group of MPs who oversee the Government petitions system, has now agreed to schedule a debate in the House of Commons Chamber on Thursday 25th June starting at 1:00pm, there are 2 topics and Wenta's will be discussed just after 3:00pm, the debate is being held in response to our petition along with others also calling for the Government to provide more support for small businesses across the country.

The start time of the debate will depend on other parliamentary business, but you can follow us @TheWentaGroup and the Petitions Committee on Twitter @HoCpetitions, where updates will be posted on when the debate is expected to start.

You can watch the debate live here (go to 15:00:00): https://parliamentlive.tv/Event/Index/a7b6db44-6101-42c7-b2a0-32abd08b80ef
A transcript will be published the following day here: https://hansard.parliament.uk

We’d like to thank all of you for signing this petition and your continued feedback and support - let’s hope that this debate brings some positive and immediate outcomes for you all.

Be rest assured, Wenta will be continuing to pursue our wider message to central Government that small businesses and small business support are an absolute investment to the UK Economy that pays back, not a cost.

This debate is progress but we’ve still got a way to go.

Kind Regards,

Ed Jordan
