Case study: FitStart UK - Personal Fitness Training
““The support we have received from Wenta has been overwhelming & they have helped us take off! I can’t put into words how helpful the staff have been.””
Aaron Phillips joined The Wenta Business Centre in September 2014. His concept was to create an innovative, original business, providing self-improvement through fitness. He devised ‘FitStart UK’ a 90 day transformation programme, guaranteed to give clients the body they’ve always dreamed of, along with plenty of confidence.
“90 days represents habit. At FitStart we drive behaviour and consistency and generate habits for our clients. This way they see long term results that will stay with them, more so than a fad diet or exercise routine. We help change people to make them feel better about themselves.”
Aaron recently picked up the ‘New Business of the Year’ Award at the 2015 Hertfordshire Business Awards. The accolade is a testament to FitStart’s remarkable growth during the past 12 months.
Business at FitStart UK has grown from 20 clients to 96 using the studio on a regular basis. Aaron has employed 3 new members of staff, two of which were past FitStart clients.
FitStart has recently launched the ‘FitStart Fitter Food Guide’, an extension of the ‘Fit Fast Food’ counter, based in the studio, which offers healthy cooking tutorials. In conjunction with this, a fitness supplement range, ‘Fit-Start Fuel’ and the launch of a clothing range have also been recent developments.
When asked about the diversification of his brand into new markets Aaron said: “I wanted to create a FitStart eco-system. A range of products and services that can fulfil all the customers’ fitness needs."
It is clear, when talking to Aaron, that he has a passion and true enthusiasm for helping others. His characteristically positive attitude drives the FitStart brand. His playful eagerness and mischievous positivity is as infectious as the endorphins his fitness schedules provide.
Indeed, his hard work and expanding business has not gone unnoticed. Aaron has recently been nominated in three categories for the Hertfordshire Business Awards: the Best Small Business Award, the Best New Business Award and the Young Entrepreneur of the Year award.
Explaining with great pride the success of the past 12 months he says:
“It’s been a great year, but I couldn’t have done it without the fantastic support of my team and the great support we have received from Wenta.
“When I first wanted to establish FitStart UK I applied for workshop space in agencies around Hertfordshire, but every one of them turned me down. The only person who believed in me was Saffron from the Watford Wenta Business Centre. She let me move in and even helped me out with all the paper work and logistics, she went beyond what she needed to do to help FitStart begin. Without her help we wouldn’t be here today, it’s as simple as that.”
