Net Zero and Business Advisor

Who are we and what do we do? 

Wenta is a not for profit, social enterprise with national reach that provides free, inclusive employability and self-employment skills and advice for people thinking about start-up, existing businesses and social enterprises. Through our activities and mission for reach, impact and growth, we aim to deliver the UK’s most successful, inclusive support and advisory provision. Our ‘zero barrier’ services aim to support local economies by: 

  • Providing free skills training to those looking to ‘upskill’ or become self employed 

  • Providing free advice to help business to start, survive, re-build or grow their business – creating new jobs in the local area. 

Wenta is experiencing unprecedented demand and, as a result, we are now looking to expand our talented team!

We are looking for a passionate, ambitious, energetic, and committed individual to join a high performing, multi award-winning organisation with 40 years of heritage and a real focus on helping people to start, develop and grow their business; supporting people to acquire the business skills that they need.  

Key Purposes of Role 

  • Identify, offer and deliver a full range of multidisciplinary services to clients (phone, email, webchat, workshops and face to face) 

  • Provide high quality business advice and support to a range of clients across a range of locations. 

Key Responsibilities 

 Business Advice and Training Support 

  • Undertake client diagnostics to determine client needs and to identify suitable interventions  

  • Work with clients to develop business plans and manage the client journey 

  • Assist clients with external funding options  

  • Book own appointments for clients and into relevant colleague’s diaries depending on the client’s geographical location and requirements 

  • Deliver workshops and webinars (this could be in any location depending upon demand) 

  • Offer required numbers of hours of face-to-face impartial business advice sessions at any locations depending on demand 

  • Deliver support and build relationships with our business centre clients, offering them high quality guidance on moving their business forward and facilitating sessions with partner organisations (if required) to aid their development 

  • Support incubations and co-working space within Wenta 

  • Develop and expand a database of key professional contacts who can offer expert sector business advice to our clients. 

Action Zero Support 

  • Advice and assist clients with their Net Zero journey and how to reduce their carbon emissions 

  • Use Wenta’s in-house Carbon Foot printing tool to work out client carbon footprints. 

Performance 

  • Achieve, as a minimum, contract targets per quarter. This will need to be evidenced using contractual guidance and utilising Wenta’s monitoring systems. 

Operational Activities  

  • Respond to incoming business advice enquiries through multiple communication and digital channels (phone, email, webchat and Microsoft Teams/Zoom) 

  • Collaborate with peers to develop a programme of partner sessions to be designed into an integrated Wenta programme of events 

  • Facilitate sourcing of new partner providers and oversee partner sessions 

  • Follow up action plan emails are completed and keep all client journey paperwork and the CRM up to date with accurate information to ensure reporting and tracking client journey is seamless. This includes preparing paperwork before and after workshops/webinars and meetings and updating the Triage team with delegates attended for the CRM 

  • Contribute to and update the content of The Business Bookshelf – keeping it focused, relevant and useful to our clients 

  • Develop and expand a database of key professional contacts who can offer expert sector business advice to our clients 

  • Contribute to growth programmes by identifying specialist support services, signposting and making referrals to internal and partner organisations growth initiatives 

  • When appropriate, to engage with stakeholders to promote internal and wider programmes of support 

  • Attend and contribute to the various team and staff meetings and to be involved in other activities as requested by Wenta.  

Client Focus 

  • Meet and maintain all standard of quality as required contractually by Wenta in delivering their contracts and programmes 

  • Operate a Code of Confidentiality and impartiality and remain independent from any client’s business ventures with no direct involvement 

  • Meet and maintain all standards of quality as may be required contractually by Wenta and as stated in the Wenta Client Charter.
