Free scheme to help local female entrepreneurs get online!
Leading enterprise agency, Wenta, have launched a brand new FREE business support programme for female entrepreneurs living in Central Bedfordshire, Bedford and Milton Keynes to improve their knowledge of how they can make the most out of Superfast Broadband.
The ‘Women and Broadband’ programme, which is funded by Central Bedfordshire, Bedford and Milton Keynes Councils, has been made available to help women start or grow their own business by improving their digital skills, getting them online and taking full advantage of all the opportunities that Superfast Broadband can bring to their business.
Deputy Executive Member for Corporate Resources at Central Bedfordshire Council, Cllr Richard Wenham, said, “Now we have Superfast Broadband, the time is right for us to offer a programme of support for local women to help them understand how developing their online business will lead to greater business success. Wenta, a leading local enterprise agency, will be providing a wide range of business support and training to encourage and inspire more women entrepreneurs in our region to get online and make the new technology work for their businesses.”
Whether in the start-up phase or growing an existing business, the programme offers a variety of support options including one-to-one business advice, one-to-one mentoring, bite-sized training courses on topics such as social media and website development as well as a range of networking opportunities to encourage peer-to-peer support.
Jeremy Green, Business Advisor at Wenta said, “We’re excited to be delivering this programme; we are aware that there are many women business owners out there that are doing a fantastic job but not necessarily utilising the digital technologies that are now available. This scheme will help them to increase their knowledge of online developments as well as reap the many benefits that Superfast Broadband can bring to their business. We also hope that this scheme will encourage even more female entrepreneurs in the future too.”
Registration for the programme is free of charge and available to all females living in Central Bedfordshire, Bedford or Milton Keynes.
