5 min read

Huge congratulations to Broxbourne Borough Council who have won the top prize for the 'Promoting Entrepreneurial Spirit' category at this year's Enterprising Britain Awards.

The national awards, dedicated to recognising and celebrating the best in developing culture and supporting small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to grow, are held each year to showcase and honour the best public or public/private sector partnership work that
promote SME business development in communities throughout the UK.

Broxbourne Borough Council were praised particularly for their successful economic development strategy, Ambition Broxbourne, one which has evolved into a brand, strategy and mantra to inspire local and strategic partners. The strategy executed a common vision and delivery plan for generating sustainable employment (6,300 new jobs by 2030) in order to rebalance the economy towards higher paid jobs within the life sciences and creative sector.

The project embedded innovation, enterprise and entrepreneurship also and Wenta are delighted to have been involved in the delivery of support for these areas through weekly outreach business advice appointments across the Borough - not only for residents thinking of becoming self-employed but to those already running a small business too.

Broxbourne Borough Council will collect their award at the main event ceremony in November.
