Work Placements
Shell Step Undergraduate Placements
The Shell Step programme places undergraduates into small and medium sized companies and community organisations to undertake specific business or technical projects driven by the needs of the host business, enabling them to develop their business through the recruitment of bright, intelligent and talented individuals.
As Shell Step coordinators for Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire, it is our job to arrange these eight-week summer work placements for both the students and companies wishing to take part.
Typical areas that Shell Step students can focus on include:
Shell Step Graduate Placements
Hot on the heels of the successful Shell Step programme comes the brand new Shell Step Graduate Placement programme, which see Shell UK working in partnership with the Government's Graduate Talent Pool to introduce a new scheme aimed at graduates of 2008 and 2009. The scheme offers work placements of up to 12 weeks and runs until March 2010.
The scheme allows companies to trial a graduate for a potential permanent position with no long term commitment on their side. Alternatively, they can use it as a means of providing a flexible resource to address business needs as they arise. Graduates have the opportunity of valuable work experience, whilst not precluding them from applying for permanent positions elsewhere.
As with the undergraduate progamme Wenta also coordinate this programme for Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. Our specialist placement teams take the hard work out of identifying and assessing appropriate candidates leaving employers free to manage their buinesses.
