National recognition for Wenta.

Wenta was recently awarded the National Enterprise Award for Marketing, at the National Federation of Enterprise Agencies' annual awards ceremony. The Awards were announced during a dedicated ceremony at a gala dinner at The Royal York Hotel in York. Wenta fought off competition from Enterprise Agencies around the country, in what proved to be one of the most popular categories of awards.

The accolade was awarded for the complete company re-branding project that Wenta has undertaken in the past eighteen months, changing the Agency's name from 'Wenta Business Services' to 'Wenta'. Having recognised the forthcoming changes within business support provision in the eastern region, the government's impending simplification programme and their plans to expand their geographical coverage and service offerings, in 2006 Wenta determined to give the organisation a fresh new look. Before making any changes they undertook an extensive programme of research where they spent several months surveying stakeholders to gauge their perceptions on the current branding.

The results of these surveys were collated and passed onto a graphic designer who was commissioned to undertake the project. KM Design, based in Tring was selected because of their understanding of Wenta's ethos and objectives and also because of their prior involvement with Wenta as one of their advisory service start-up clients.

Commenting on Wenta's win, the judges of the National Enterprise Awards said, "This was a close-run category which demonstrated how agencies are developing a greater understanding of how marketing and communications need to be embedded within the organisation. Wenta's application showed that marketing is seen as integral to the growth of the business and to developing clear identity with clients and partners. Wenta's 2007-08 rebrand was strategically driven, with a professional approach and a demonstrable effect on the agency's business, making them the worthy award winners in this category."

Wenta's Marketing Manager, Abi Hall was delighted with the achievement and said "The value of the brand and the importance of effective, customer focused marketing that will meet the needs of our clients, is recognised by all at Wenta. A considerable amount of time and resource has been spent on this project. The result has been we now have a fresh eye-catching identity, stand out from the crowd and we have established our individuality and independence as an organisation whilst retaining our reputation as a key deliverer of valuable enterprise support services. It's great to have our efforts recognised by the National Federation."

At last year's National Enterprise Awards Wenta received the top accolade for Education links for the development of their Education programmes. They are hoping to continue their run of success at next year's awards and make it three in a row.
